1. Kasu Brahmananda Reddy National Park

Popularly known as KBR National Park, the Kasu Brahmananda Reddy National Park located near Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad, Telangana is spread across 390 acres. This park and wildlife sanctuary has been named after former Chief Minister Kasu Brahmananda Reddy. Better known as a jungle amidst concrete jungle, this national park in Telangana is known for being home to 140 species of birds, 600 species of plants, and 30 species of butterflies. The palace here was the property of Prince Mukarram Jah. After being handed over to the government, it received its national park status in 1998. The palace here is surrounded by several other buildings such as the motor khana and the gol bungalow. Don’t miss to witness mammals such as porcupine and small Indian civet here.

2. Mahavir Harina Vanasthali National Park

Located in the Vanasthalipuram area of Hyderabad in Telangana, this national park was named after the Jain Teerthankara Mahavir on the eve of his 2500th birth anniversary in 1975. Even though this park used to serve as the private hunting grounds for the Nizam rulers once upon a time, it was later converted into a National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary. Today the national park is home to different animals including Indian pond heron, blackbucks, leopards, egrets, and different species of birds. Its location within the city makes this national park easily accessible. Spread across 13,758 acres, this national park is also known for being the largest green lung space in the capital city of Telangana.

3. Mrugavani National Park

Located 22 km away from Hyderabad, Mrugavani National Park is one of the most widely visited national parks in Telangana. Spread across 1211 acres, this park is home to different wildlife species such as jungle cat, jackal, black-naped, porcupine, etc. This national park in Telangana is also home to 100 bird species and 600 different kinds of plants as well. If you want to take a closer look at the diverse wildlife, this park is definitely for you. 4. Kawal Tiger Reserve

Located approximately 258 km away from Hyderabad, Kawal Tiger Reserve is one of the most popular national parks/wildlife sanctuary in Telangana that attracts thousands of visitors every year from different parts of the country. This national park is an important part of the Central Indian Tiger landscape which is known for being one of the continuous networks of tiger habitat across the globe. Kawal is connected to Tadoba Tiger Reserve to the north and Indravathi National Park to the east. 5. Shamirpet Deer Park

This park was originally built in 1971 during the rulership of the Nizams. Known for being home to a wide variety of deer ranging from Black Buck to Chital Deer, this deer park unravels the rejuvenating opportunity for you to rejuvenate yourself amidst lush greenery. 6. Ali Sagar Deer Park

Located approximately 125 km away from Hyderabad, this wildlife sanctuary has been built around the Pocharam Dam. While the sanctuary earlier used to be the hunting grounds of the Nizams, today it remains adorned with animals, plants, and birds. Nine islands located within the park unravel the best opportunity for you to witness fishes, turtles, and other marine life as well.
