3. Geography-

Borders- Sweden shares north and most of the west boundary with Norway. The Scandinavian Mountain Range lies between Norway and the western part of Sweden. The North Sea covers the southwest border. The eastern border is along the coast of the Gulf of Bothnia and Baltic Sea. The southern boundary is shared with Denmark and the Baltic Sea.

Neighboring Countries- Sweden is close to several neighboring countries like Norway, Finland, Denmark, Poland, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. Individuals from Sweden can travel to these countries by train, ferries, or cars.

Highest Point- The highest point of the mountain is 2,111 meters from sea level.

Length and Width of Sweden- The North to south distance of Sweden is about 1574 km (980 miles) and east to west 499 km (364 miles). The coastline of west, south, and east is 3218 km (2000 miles).

Islands Surrounding Sweden- There are over 260,500 islands around Sweden spread in the Gulf of Bothnia, the North Sea, and the Baltic sea. Only 980 islands are inhabited, and Sweden is known as “World’s Island Capital.”

Gotland Island- The largest island of Sweden is known as Gotland island. The island has several fabulous beaches and the best of all beaches present in Scandinavia. The length of the island is 3,173 square kilometers/1,225 square mile.

Inland Lakes- Over 100,000 lakes are spread all over Sweden. The largest four lakes are Vänern, Vättern, Hjälmaren, and Mälaren. Early settlers were attracted to settle in Sweden because of a large volume of freshwater.

Rivers- There are several rivers in the northern and central provinces. The few courses of the river cause spectacular waterfalls. The river passes through rocky and forest terrain.
