2. Lepchakka Village

6. Murti

Named after the mesmerizingly beautiful Murti river, Murti is a quaint, picturesque village located pretty close to Lataguri. This river meets the Jaldhaka river and flows through the entirety of Dooars. Murti’s total length is 80 km, and it is gorgeous. You will be shocked to know that in the 20th century the entire region was notorious for Dacoits. Most of the criminals used to enter Murti village by crossing the river. At that time, the area did not have much wildlife, but when the wilderness grew, the Dacoits stopped coming. When you visit Murti now, you will not get any ambience of its notorious past. As the river is primarily rainfed, the water is genuinely crystal-clear. It is one of the most picturesque sites in the entirety of Dooars.
