Visit Hvar Island in Croatia: Wonderful Beaches, Walking Trails and Landscapes (2024)
Hvar is an island located about 465 km from Zagreb and 50 km from the city of Split. The Dalmatian coast Hvar island is on the Adriatic Sea on the south side of Croatia. Tourists can take a train to Split from Zagreb and then travel by ferry to the Hvar island.
Since there is an extra effort needed to reach the Hvar island it is worth staying at the island for one or two nights. The tourist must reserve a hotel room during the tourist season. Hvar Island is a popular tourist place during summer for local Croatians, visitors from surrounding European country and also an international tourist.
The Hvar island has wonderful beaches, walking trails, and landscapes. The Hvar town has several cobblestones and marble streets, Gothic churches, and an ancient fortress.
The town is partially surrounded by 13th-century walls. The Hvar island is lively in the evening with music and singing. Several restaurants offer authentic Croatian dishes and also bars to relax along the coast.
