2. The Grotto:

Originally known as National Sanctuary of our Sorrowful Mother, is an outdoor catholic shrine and sanctuary at the Madison South District in Portland. The Grotto is spread over a vast area of about 60 acres and covers both the foot and the top of a 110 feet cliff. It has a vast meditation hall that extends right from the top to the bottom of the cliff. The Holy Cross on the top of the hill can be seen from miles away. 8. Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden:

This is a must see place when you are in Portland. This garden houses some of the rare species and hybrid rhododendrons, azaleas, and other rare ericaceous plants and quite an unusual collection of trees. The best thing about the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden is that it is as beautiful in summers as it is in the winters meaning you can visit this place at any time of the year.

This has given the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden international recognition. From April through May, the azaleas and the rhododendrons are in full show making this garden more picturesque and amazing. 9. Portland Saturday Market:

This is the largest continuously operated outdoor market across the United States. This market opens up every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from March through till Christmas. There is no admission fee for this market and is easily accessible from anywhere in Portland. It is estimated that around $12 million is generated as revenue from this market every year and around 700,000 visitors come here every year.

it is a small amusement park which is around 3 miles south in Portland. This park is more than 100 years old and is a favourite among kids.
