Nuranang Falls, also known as Jung Falls or Bong Bong Falls, is a 100 meters high waterfalls in the Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh. This dazzling beauty is not a very widely known destination, but its beauty is unmatched. The Nuranangfalls are situated at a distance of around two kilometers from the Jang town on the road connecting Tawang and Bomdila, and that is why it is also called the Jung Falls. Along the base of the Nuranangfalls, a Hydel plant is constructed to generate electricity for local use. A popular myth surrounds these majestic falls, according to which the Nuranang river and Nuranang falls were named after a Monpa girl from the local tribe named Nura who helped a soldier, Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat, during the 1962 Sino-Indian War; however, later, he was captured by China. Madhuri Lake is a beautiful and amazing lake in the Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh. The lake was originally known as Sangestar Lake, is a visitor’s delight. Madhuri lake is an incredible combination of rocky mountains and the ever-present lake that makes for an extraordinary view. The lake was made famous after a song from the Bollywood movie Koyla was shot here with the lead actress Madhuri Dixit, and that is why now it is also known by the name Madhuri Lake after the actress’s name.
It is a beautiful lake with splendid beauty, which has the power to refresh one’s mind and soul. The lake, which was a grassland earlier, was formed due to an earthquake.

2. Tawang Monastery
The Tawang Monastery is also called the Golden Namgyal Lhatse, is one of the most important and famous tourist destinations in Arunachal Pradesh. It is the biggest monastery in India and the second-largest in the world, the first one being Lhasa. Tawang monastery is supposed to be around 400 years old and has controlling rights over 17 gompas in the region. The monastery is home to over 300 monks. It offers some eye-catching views of the Tawang-Chu valley. The 8 meters tall Lord Buddha statue is a significant and prominent attraction of the place.

Merak Lama LodreGyamtso founded the monastery to fulfill the wish of NagwangLobsang Gyatso, the 5th Dalai Lama, in 1860-61. It is a three-storeyed building, and the main temple, Dukhang, is an architectural wonder with attractive artwork and paintings of Bodhisattvas. The monastery also comprises a library which has precious and important old scriptures like Kangyur and Tengyur. Festivals celebrated at the monastery are a delightful and memorable experience.
