About Rudrasagar Lake

Rudrasagar lake is spread over an area of approximately 2.5 Km square and is almost 52 Km from Agartala, the Tripura capital city. A natural sedimentation reservoir, which is Rudrasagar lake, receives flow from three streams: Noacherra, Durlavnaraya cherra, and Kemtali cherra. The Rudrasagar lake is a budding and significant Bird area which attracts a large number of waterfowl in winter. Few rare species have also been recorded, which are the endangered Baer’s Pochard and near-threatened Ferruginous duck. The Rudrasagar lake is quite important in the sense that one of the major tourist attractions of Tripura, which is Neermahal (Water Palace), is situated on the banks of Rudrasagar lake, which was constructed by then King Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya as a summer residence.
