The biggest wildlife sanctuary in Tripura which is around 25 Km from the city center and is located in Bishalgarh in an area of approximately 18 Km. The land of woods includes an artificial lake and natural zoological and botanical gardens. Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary is a very famous tourist attraction in Tripura, extremely popular for its clouded leopard enclosures. There is Clouded Leopard National Park, which was established in the year 2007 inside the Sepahijala Wildlife sanctuary. It includes a wide range of a variety of birds, primates, and other animals. The place is shelter to about 150 species of birds and the distinctive bespectacled monkey Phayre’s Langur.

The Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary also serves as an academic and research center. Around 150 birds currently live in the sanctuary, and in winters, the migratory birds visit. The Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary was initiated in 1972 and has five sections: carnivores, primates, ungulates, reptiles, and aviary. Lakes also form an integral part of the sanctuary, and one such lake is Amrit Sagar, which also has a boating facility. There are other tourist attractions in Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary like the stunning view of coffee and rubber plantations and a toy train ride.

Also, the Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary provides accommodation in the forest for a night adventure. This dark bungalow, called Abasarika, near the botanical garden, zoo, and boating lake attracts the tourists for a great exciting and thrilling experience. The zoo is almost 3-4 Km inside the sanctuary and is a must-visit for all adventure and nature seekers. Also, there is a separate fee for the camera and parking.
