a. Tripura Sundari Temple – The Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Tripura Sundari is also popularly and locally known as Devi Tripureshwari. The other name for the temple is Matabari. The sacred shrine is set on a small hill whose shape is similar to that of a hump of a tortoise (Kurma). Because of this shape, it is called Kurmapṛṣṭhakṛti. This sacred shrine is considered to be one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, and as believed, the little finger of the left leg of Sati (Hindu Goddess) fell here. The temple consists of two similar but different sized black stone idols of the Goddess. The larger idol, which is 5 feet in height, is of Goddess Tripura Sundari, and the smaller one is called Chhoto-Ma (meaning Little Mother), which is 2 feet tall and is of Goddess Chandi.

The temple was built in by Maharaja Dhanya Manikya in 1501 A.D. It consists of a square-shaped chamber built in a typical Bengali hut structure with a conical dome. The famous Diwali Mela that occurs on the occasion of Diwali every year near the temple is a major attraction for all pilgrims and tourists.
