Visit Holy Monastery Panagia Tsambika in Rhodes, Greece (2024)

The Holy Monastery Panagia Tsambika is 31 km south on the east coast from the city of Rhodes, Greece. The Monastery had an Icon that was disputed to be brought from the Holy Monastery of Panagia Kykkos in Cyprus. The dispute lasted for several years.

This had upset the monks of Kykkos and they went to great lengths to confine the icon. The Monks from Cyprus had burned the back of the icon while Icon was in Cypress, today the icon that is present in The Holy Monastery Panagia Tsambika has signs of burnt on the back of the icon. The prayer at the church is considered spiritual blessings to females who want to get pregnant and also better health of the child of pregnant women. Devotees and visitors have to climb 292 steps to reach the Monarchy. Tourists come to the Church and pray for the better health of their children.
