Briksdalsbreen Glacier: Popular Travel Destination in Norway (2024)
Most tourists drive 166 km east to Briksdalsbreen Glacier early morning. The drive takes about 3 to 3 ½ hours. The tour plan is to arrive by 10 am and then around noon drive 150 km to Runde Island.
The drive to Runde island may take 2 to 2 ½ hours. The Briksdalsbreen glacier lies on the north side of the mountain. The size of the glacier depends on moisture and temperature. There has been very small changes observed in the size of glaciers.
The glacier had increased in size in late 1990, unlike other glaciers that had shrunk in size. There are not many recreational activities near the glacier. Most tourists bring lunch and take a break before driving to the next stop.
