Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco: Visit SF (2024)
The Fisherman’s Wharf is about 2 miles north of San Francisco city center. The Welcome Center of Golden gate visitors is about 4 miles from the Fisherman’s wharf. Most tourist visit both the places in San Francisco the same day. Fisherman’s Wharf is one of the busiest and well known tourist attractions in San Francisco
The cable car is also close to the harbor and is included in a day trip of San Francisco. The gold rush was bringing people from all over USA to San Francisco. Fishing business was booming since there were lot of customers waiting for fresh fish catch every day. The wharf was built in years of 1,800 by immigrant Italian fisherman.
Even today, the local residents of San Francisco come to Wharf to buy a fresh fish. The location is known as Pier 39 next to Cannery Shopping Center. The tourist also visits the “Wax Museum” and “Maritime National Historical Park” at Fisherman’s Wharf or Pier 39. At noon tourist enjoy the fresh seafood meal at one of the family owned restaurant located at the harbor.
