Aalborg city is about 130 km (81 miles) from Thy National Park. The population of the town is 212,000 people. Aalborg is the northernmost 4th largest city of Denmark and residents often experience a bitter cold during winter. Aalborg city was built in AD 700. The harbor has been used for centuries to move cargo as well as people to various islands near and far from the town.

The place is shared for practice and performance by the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra and Royal Academy of music. The modern facility also used for private shows.
